Mad for Mod.

School starts next week. We are all dreading it terribly and wish that there was still a month left of summer. Since this is not the case, it is important that we look on the bright side of this awful situation. Back to school means: Time to show off all of the amazing purchases we made over the summer! I believe that for this season, the perfect back to school outfit is the shift dress. It's still light enough for the warm last days of summer, yet versatile enough to wear with tights and boots if it does happen to be a chilly day. Here are some picks of my favorite shift dresses.

The key thing when it comes to wearing a shift dress is realizing its length. These adorable frocks tend to fall pretty short on the thigh. If you have long, lean legs: go for the short length. If you're not as skinny as Daria or Gemma: stick to a longer version.

To create a look, wear these dresses with ballet flats, opaque or patterned tights (the opposite of the dress), and big funky earrings.

I wish all of you a happy first day back.

I love the pictures! Marisa, you need to become a fashion journalist or a celebrity stylist so that the world (especially those of us who are not as fabulously attired as yourself) can benefit from your expertise. You are my sartorial hero!
